Introduction & About Phone.com

Rich Tehrani:
Hey, it’s Rich Tehrani, the Tech Authority. Thanks for joining us today. We’re really excited to have the team from Phone.com — Ari Rabban and Amber Newman. Good afternoon!

Ari Rabban:
Good afternoon. Great to be here.

Amber Newman:
Very well, thank you.

Rich:
You’ve got such a great domain name — Phone.com — so it’s pretty clear you’re in the telecom space. Ari, can you tell us more about what your company does?

Ari:
Sure! Phone.com is a business phone service provider, focused specifically on small businesses — from sole proprietors up to teams of 10 or 20. We do have larger customers, but our sweet spot is the very small business community. Our service is largely self-provisioned and comes packed with features. We’ve been doing this for over 17 years.

Rich:
I’ve seen you at nearly every IT Expo in South Florida — always showing up, except maybe once during COVID. So you’re definitely active in the community.

Ari:
Yes, absolutely. We’re strong supporters of the show and the broader community.

Rich:
Amber, tell us a little about your background. How did you get here?

Amber:
I’ve been in the VoIP space for nearly 20 years — starting with M5 Networks, which eventually got acquired by Shortel, then Mitel. I’ve worked with a few other companies that were also acquired along the way. It’s been amazing to see the evolution of business communications, especially for small businesses — which is where my passion lies.

Introducing ProSIM

Rich:
You’ve got a big product launch — tell us about it. Ari, what’s the new product?

Ari:
It’s called ProSIM — and it’s our next-gen offering that integrates UCaaS (Unified Communications as a Service) with native mobile phone service. Instead of relying on a mobile app for business calls, which many do today, ProSIM gives you a second, fully functional business line on your native mobile dialer. Amber can break it down even further.

Amber:
Absolutely. This really solves a major pain point — the hassle of using two phones or relying on mobile apps, which often don’t perform well in areas with weak Wi-Fi. ProSIM enables users to make and receive business calls directly through their native dialer, using an eSIM — no apps needed. It separates personal and professional identities and maintains UCaaS features like hold music, auto attendants, call recording, and HIPAA compliance.

Why ProSIM is a Game-Changer

Rich:
Why was there a need for this solution? What was the problem?

Ari:
Many small business owners don’t want to use their personal number for business. They rely on mobile apps to separate the two, but those apps aren’t always reliable — especially for frontline workers who are on the go. With ProSIM, they get a business line that’s just as reliable as their personal line, without changing behavior.

Amber:
Exactly. Previously, you had three bad options: carry two phones, use an app, or just give out your personal number. ProSIM gives you a fourth — and better — option. It’s the first true desk phone in your pocket. No change in behavior. You just scan a QR code to activate your eSIM, and you’re good to go.

How ProSIM Works

Rich:
So how do you make or receive calls with ProSIM?

Amber:
It’s easy. When you make a call, your dialer lets you choose between SIM 1 (your personal line) or SIM 2 (ProSIM). The phone remembers your last choice, so it’s super smooth. Texting works the same way. Just use your normal messaging app, select the SIM, and go.

Who Is ProSIM For?

Amber:
ProSIM was built for deskless workers — the backbone of small businesses. Our customers don’t sit behind a desk all day, and they can’t be forced into using complicated apps. This solution is intuitive and seamless — no extra steps.

Ari:
We’re seeing early adoption already — healthcare workers, traveling sales teams, and other mobile employees. It’s HIPAA-compliant and gives the business full control of the customer relationship by keeping the business number in-house.

Pricing & Availability

Rich:
What should people know about availability and pricing?

Ari:
You can sign up now on www.phone.com. You need a basic Phone.com account to get started. The first month of ProSIM is free, and after that, it’s just $10 per month. Existing customers can simply add it to their plan.

Other Considerations

Rich:
What about coverage and compatibility?

Ari:
Currently, ProSIM runs on the AT&T network, covering 96% of the U.S. If your main line is on Verizon, ProSIM actually gives you a second carrier option. We’re also looking into unlocked vs. locked phones — and providing educational support to guide customers through setup.

Amber:
And yes, Wi-Fi calling will be available soon. In the meantime, if you’re in a dead zone, you can still fall back on our app. But most of the time, ProSIM will just work on your native dialer without any additional steps.

Final Thoughts

Rich:
This has been fantastic. I love what you’re doing and how you’re helping small businesses stay professional while simplifying their lives. Any closing thoughts?

Amber:
Just that this is finally a desk phone in your pocket — with all the business-grade features you need, but no new behavior to learn. If you have an unlocked phone, it’s as easy as scanning a QR code and you’re up and running.

Ari:
And we’re continuing to evolve the platform — expect more innovation, AI enhancements, and partner integrations in the future.

Rich:
Thank you both for your time — this was a great conversation. I look forward to future success stories and updates from you.

Ari & Amber:
Thank you, Rich!
