HIPAA
To provide its services, Phone.com does not require access, nor intend to access customer communications which might include various types of personal information, including but not limited to Protected Health Information (PHI”), as defined in 45 C.F.R. §760.703 under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 7996 (“HIPAA Rules”). However, PHI may be present in “data at rest” within Phone.com systems (including in the contents of voicemail, call recordings, SMS/MMS text messaging, and faxes). When stored in Phone.com’s systems. PHI is encrypted and subject to access and audit controls, as required by the HIPAA and Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (“HITECH”) rules.
CPNI
In providing services to you, Phone.com collects and maintains certain customer proprietary network information (“CPNI”). CPNI includes the types of services you currently purchase, as well as related usage and billing information for those services. Your telephone number, name and address alone are not CPNI.
We are committed to protecting your CPNI and complying with applicable law regarding CPNI. Accordingly, we do not sell, trade or share your CPNI, including your records of calls made or received, with third parties not part of Phone.com’s family of companies and affiliates, nor with anyone not authorized to offer our products or services or perform functions on our behalf (e.g. service providers),
Please note, however, that we are legally permitted to use your CPNI to offer additional services to you and for billing and collections purposes.
