Number porting is a common activity that is generally completed within 15 business days (although some requests can take up to 60 business days). The speed depends on the responsiveness of your current carrier. But, don’t worry. We will give you a temporary number that will work with Phone.com immediately. If you like, you can forward your current number to the temporary number while the transfer process progresses and begin using your new Phone.com service right away.
Fortunately, most denials can be avoided by paying careful attention to the information requested for the transfer. The most common avoidable reasons for denial are:
In most cases, yes. All wireless providers require account number and PIN to validate a port out. The account number is usually located on your recent invoice. Your account PIN is typically the 4-digit number that you set when signing up with your other provider.
Phone.com does not charge you anything to transfer your number. Most providers do not charge customers a fee to port their number to a new provider, but a few do. Check with your current provider about port out costs.
The first step is to sign up with Phone.com. You’ll select your plan and the number of users you need. On the number selection screen, select “Transfer my number.” You’ll be assigned a temporary number that you can use while the transfer is processed.
Once your account is created and you begin the setup wizard, you’ll be asked for the information and approvals necessary to begin the transfer process.
In order to ensure a seamless transfer, be sure to accurately share your information exactly as your existing carrier will see it.
Our team actively monitors each transfer request and will reach out to you if there are any issues or additional information required. Keep an eye out for emails from Phone.com.
We’ll let you know when the transfer is complete and you can cancel service with your current provider if you’d like.
Yes. Like all other providers, we require proof of account ownership, authorization, and no pending balance or orders.
