Vanity numbers are often used by businesses to make it easier for customers to remember a phone number. Think 1-800-FLOWERS or 1-858-FABRICS.
Toll-free or local vanity numbers can also be used to spell out an individual’s name, and a Phone.com customer recently told us how she reserved six local vanity phone numbers for a very special purpose!
Our customer Sandra* is grandmother to six grandchildren—all babies and toddlers. Her grandchildren all live in the same Nashville, TN, area code (615), which is due to be retired soon. Sandra wanted to leave a legacy for her family and give each grandchild something that would last a lifetime.
So she purchased six local vanity phone numbers matching the first names of each of the children: 1-615-antonio, 1-615-calista, 1-615-marissa, and so on. Each grandchild will now have their own vanity phone number for life!
What a great gift, and a thoughtful grandma. We love hearing stories about how customers use our service.
