New Jersey is home to companies of all sizes and industries. What you may not know, is that New Jersey is also home to a growing number of Economic Development Centers (EDCs), where technology companies co-exist under the same roof and feed off the enthusiasm and innovation of one another. These EDC facilities across the state have proven instrumental to the accelerated growth of the tech sector in New Jersey.
Being a New Jersey company, Phone.com just happens to reside in one of these facilities—the New Jersey Institute of Technology Economic Development Center. NJITEDC, it’s a mouthful and also the home of thriving tech companies located at the edge of NJIT’s campus in Newark, NJ. It was our own EDC that recently nominated Phone.com to The New Jersey Business Incubation Network (NJBIN) as one of their most prominent and successful companies at the NJITEDC.
Guess what happened next. Phone.com won! Late last month, Phone.com and our CEO Ari Rabban were honored at the Second Annual NJBIN Awards. We were recognized alongside a group of innovative companies ranging from a firm making waves in stem cell research to a business that upgrades parking garages into solar farms. Let’s just say we were in good company.
Of course it’s always satisfying to receive any award and since Phone.com seems to be doing well at it, I’ll take that as a sign we must be doing something right!
About NJBIN: The mission of NJBIN is to accelerate economic growth through business incubation and innovation, and actively promote the value of incubation and its contribution to the state’s economy. The organization excels at accelerating the growth of technology companies.
