Move to Poway space reflects increased demand for company’s cloud-based services
POWAY, Calif., April 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Phone.com, a cloud-based phone company focused on the needs of small business and entrepreneurs, today announced it has expanded its San Diego-area presence with new offices in Poway.
Phone.com now occupies 5,000 square feet of space at 14288 Danielson Street, where 25 employees work in network operations, customer support and developing new services and features. The company expects to add employees at the facility this year to accommodate growth.
Founded in 2007, Phone.com is a cloud-based telecommunications company that serves the needs of small business and entrepreneurs, typically those with fewer than 20 lines. The company provides affordable, feature-rich business communications services that customers initiate, control and customize themselves, and it emphasizes around-the-clock, U.S.-based customer service.
With accounts in all 50 states, Phone.com serves more than 25,000 business customers in retail, marketing, health care, real estate, legal, medical and other professional services. Headquartered in Newark, N.J., the company was recognized recently by INC500 as one of the fastest growing telecom companies in the United States.
The Poway location adjoins a building occupied by Tierra.net, Phone.com’s partner and data center provider since it began offering services. Phone.com employees had been housed in Tierra.net’s offices for several years.
“We have seen growth in customers and revenue in every year since we started operating, so we had been thinking of establishing a location of our own in Poway for some time,” said CEO and co-founder Ari Rabban. “The timing for our move was necessary now because of the continued growth in customer accounts and operations to serve them.”
