So I came across a wild statistic yesterday, “95% of text messages are read within 15 minutes”.   This is great, it’s monumental, I’ve never seen a stat like that before.  What does this mean for you?  Well have you considered text advertising?  Maybe text coupons?  Or even just reminding your customers about appointments.

Text messaging could cause a huge windfall for the senders.  Imagine having a 95% view rate on a coupon you send out, I imagine that’s a lot better then the blue envelope full of coupons we get every week or 2.   If you’re a doctors office with a really high no show rate on the Tuesday after a holiday weekend (with Monday off), I’d imagine that sending SMS to each of your patients on Monday would lower the no show rate a great deal.  In turn making the money the office should be making versus losing a huge percentage because “Tuesday felt like Monday”.
