Caller ID |
Phone.com Caller ID enables the phone number of the calling party to be displayed on your phone.
If your IP phone or analog phone supports Caller ID Name display, Phone.com will attempt to display the correct Caller ID Name on your phone. However the Caller ID Name information is fetched by us from a national database of Caller ID Name as per the Caller’s phone number. Not all carriers update the records of that national database, hence the text we display may not always reflect the actual name of the business or the person calling, where the number Caller ID is the correct Caller ID of that caller.
Also note that if you receive your Phone.com calls via a cell phone, your cell phone fetches the Caller ID Name to display from it’s own stored address book (i.e the names stored on the phone).
Outbound Caller ID & Outbound Text Called ID
Phone.com allows users dialing out to select the Caller ID to use for Outbound Calls that will display on the phones of the people called.
Phone.com also allows users to define their own outbound Caller ID Name, per Caller ID to use for Outbound Calls. (Virtual Office and for non toll-free numbers only)
Please note: Caller ID Name must consist of letters, numbers, space, and comma, with a maximum of 15 characters in length. This is a limitation of the legacy Caller ID Name technology. It is also unlawful to submit false, unauthorized, or misleading Caller ID information.
