I’m a big fan of free wifi and Mexican food and guess who’s getting in store wifi very soon? Yes you guessed it, Taco Bell. I can’t even tell you the last time I ate Taco Bell but let me tell you this I now have a preference to go to Taco Bell over Del Taco (another similar fast food restaurant). Now that Taco Bell is going to be offering free wifi I think I might just have to give them a try and attempt to work there for an hour or 2. I know it may not seem like much but it is the largest Mexican fast food chain restaurant in the world with over 70% market share.
This is great news for mobile workers, now you can get lunch and work at the same time. Now if they would only get a play area I could bring my kids and let them eat then play while I work. And very important to keep in mind is that you will be able to make VOIP calls (as long as they don’t block it). I wonder if we’ll start to see people having lunch meetings at Taco Bell, sometimes you just need more then a coffee.
With more and more restaurants getting wifi are you changing where you have business meetings when out of the office? I was at an upscale restaurant last week for a meeting that was supposed to take place at a coffee shop but the person I was meeting was hungry for a meal so we walked over to this restaurant and we were happy to find that they had wifi and could have our meeting (we needed the internet) there instead of having to walk back to the coffee shop after dinner.
So now no one will know if you’re in your office or at Taco Bell when you call them if you’re using our Mobile VOIP app because you can set your work number to appear on the outgoing caller ID.
