Call Scheduling Is For Everybody

Last night I had a rude reminder that there is a world going on outside of my vacation. I got a call from someone who didn’t know I was out of town let alone it being 3am. I had never set up rules for accepting calls set around the time of day but I am now. I love always being accessible but 3am isn’t reasonable for me, especially not while on vacation. Guess what my new favorite feature of is… Scheduling. I have set it up so that all calls go to voicemail from 11pm until 8am so I hope to not get woken up again. It’s a feature I’ve never given much though to because I thought it didn’t apply to me but it really does.

Scheduling always seemed to me to be a feature for people wanting to direct calls to different employees at different hours of the day but not to avoid being woken up on vacation. But this is a feature everyone should use. Even if you just have it set up so people have to press 1 to acknowledge that it’s an important call. Because this morning at 3am I didn’t really want to buy new windows for my house.
