As a business owner, you probably have several users on your Phone.com account that want to check their email, send SMS, and modify their call handling rules. The problem is, you don’t want to give them access to your sensitive billing information or account-wide settings. The good news is that Phone.com provides an alternative which allows employees to log in directly to their extensions and only have access to their particular settings.
To log into an extension, you will need 3 pieces of information:
- Any phone.com number on your account
- An extension number
- A voicemail password
To find your Phone.com number, go to “Configure” at the top of your page, then select “Manage Numbers” on the left. This gets you to your Manage Numbers page. Make note of whichever number you want to sign in as.
To find your extension number, go to “Configure” at the top of your page, then select “Manage Users & Extensions.” This provides you with a breakdown of all the extensions on your account. Select the one that you want your employee to sign in as.
To find your voicemail password, select the “Edit” box next to the extension you plan to use on the “Manage Users and Extensions” page. This will take you to the extensions settings page for the extension you have chosen. Scroll down on this page to the voicemail section, and make note of the numbers in the password field. If you want to change these numbers, enter a new password and press “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.
You now have all the information you need to sign into an extension. You’ll now go to www.phone.com, and click the Login button at the top right corner of the page. On the login page, click the Extension tab on the left. This will prompt you for the 3 pieces of information that you gathered earlier. Enter this information to sign into your account.
