Can I talk on my home phone and be online at the same time?
Absolutely. Our network is designed to be ultra efficient. As long as you have a broadband Internet connection, you can work on the computer and talk on the phone without experiencing any degradation of service.
How do I make phone calls with Phone.com Home Phone Service?
Once your adapter is installed, you simply pick up your telephone and dial. For domestic calls, you must dial the full ten digit number, you should lead all domestic calls with the digit “1″. It’s important to understand the relies on your broadband Internet connection. If there is a power outage or your broadband service is interrupted for any reason, your Phone.com Home Phone Service will not work. But, if this does happen, the ability to forward all calls to an alternate destination (such as your cellular phone) is available.
Is dialing 911 the same with Phone.com Home Phone Service?
There are also some important differences when dialing 911 on your Phone.com Home Phone Service. You must activate your 911 service! Users are required to register the home address of their service so that they can be located in the event of an emergency. If the physical location of your adapter is not accurate or not on record, emergency services will not be able to locate you if you are unable to speak your address or are disconnected.
If you move your adapter to another location, you must call customer service at 1.800.998-7087 or use the online account management portal to update the physical location on record.
As noted above, 911 service may be disrupted by power outages or outages of your broadband internet service. We urge you to review the “Emergency Services – 911 Dialing” section in the Phone.com Terms of Service agreement for more information about 911 Dialing.

Can I connect a fax to the ATA?
Please note that fax is an old technology. Sending a fax digitally via VoIP to a destination with physical FAX machine connected to the old telephony network could be less reliable than sending it using a physical fax machine connected to the old telephony network. This is specifically important if you are sending to international destinations. If your business depends on sending faxes to international destinations we recommend that you use physical fax connected to the plain old telephony network (POTS). Or simply use e-mail. However, if you are connecting a machine to a VoIP ATA device we recommend that you set up your maximal fax speed to 9,600 or 14,400 to improve the reliability of the fax transmission over the ATA.
How can I change my Outbound Caller ID?
To change your Outbound Caller ID use your on-line control panel, you can only select a caller ID that you own, and that is part of your Phone.com service.
Do you ship ATAs overseas?
No.
How can I use multiple phones with my Home Phone Service?
The most optimal method is to use a cordless phone system with a base unit and extra handsets. The “base station” of the cordless phone plugs directly into the port of your adapter (ATA). You can then place the extra handsets around your home.
Multiple Jack Connectors or Splitters are available from your local home improvement store. Plug the connector into the phone port of your adapter (ATA) and then plug your other phones into the connector.
A wireless phone jack system is available at your local home improvement center, and it allows you to place a phone into any electrical outlet. The base connects to the port of the adapter (ATA) and the wireless jacks plug into the electrical outlets in your home. Please be aware that wireless phone jack systems may cause interference and potential sound related issues which we are not responsible.
