Can I send SMS to International numbers?
Please understand that Phone.com cannot support sending SMS to international numbers.
Can I receive SMS? Can you forward it to my cellphone?
Yes, SMS can be received through your account to a local telephone number. Please note we cannot send SMS to or from a toll free number. Once the SMS message has been sent to your Phone.com number, it will arrive in your Phone.com extension Inbox. You also have the option of forwarding the SMS to an outside cell phone.
Is it possible to forward SMS to a foreign cell phone number?
You can forward incoming SMS messages to a US Based Cell Phone only.
When I send or receive an SMS through Phone.com, will minutes be deducted? Will there be extra charges?
No minutes or extra charges will apply through Phone.com, however please check with your cell phone provider for specific details on your plan.
I have a Toll Free Number but I do not see the option to send or receive an SMS. Why not?
SMS cannot be sent to or from toll free numbers.
I received the SMS message on my cell phone. If I reply, where does it go?
When you reply from your cell phone to a Phone.com SMS, the message will be delivered to the original sender as well as to the Inbox of your Phone.com extension.
When I receive an SMS to my Phone.com number, where does the message go?
The message will be received to the Inbox of the selected extension. If you also are forwarding the SMS to an outside cell phone, the SMS will appear on that phone as well.
Does Phone.com support SMS text messaging?
Yes, text messaging is now supported in our system. For more details, please visit the SMS Send Receive Features Page.
Can I use my toll free number to send and receive SMS?
Toll free numbers cannot be used as caller ID when making outbound calls to other toll free numbers. In this case, your caller ID will be (973) 577-6380. SMS cannot be sent from toll free numbers. Setting this to a toll free number will disable the ability to send SMS from this extension.
