About the Phone.com Mobile Office app:
The Phone.com Mobile Office app is your Phone.com mobile extension. Most main functions that you can do through your control panel for your extension, we want you to be able to do straight from your phone.

Downloading your Phone.com Mobile Office App:
To download directly from your Android device through the Android Market, click here. For instructions on how to download from your computer click here.
Logging in to your Phone.com Mobile Office App:
Once the app is downloaded, to log in, you will simply need to enter your:
- Phone.com phone number
- Virtual Office Extension number (leave blank if you have a Virtual Number or Home Phone account)
- PIN (your extension voicemail password)
Note: If you haven’t used this phone before with Phone.com Mobile Office, we will automate a call to your phone, and ask that you enter a security code. You will only have to do this once.
Viewing your Inbox
Your inbox contains all of your incoming voicemails, faxes, and SMS, just like on the web. Messages are arranged by “conversation”, meaning that you will only see the latest message from each person you communicate with. Click the person to see a history of messages to and from that person.
You can also delete a message, download it to a separate file, or block that number.
Address Book
Access your phone’s built-in address book conveniently from the Phone.com app.
Settings
This function lets you set basic settings for use with your Phone.com extension:
Other Apps: when enabled, ALL your outbound calls will be completed using your Phone.com Mobile Office dialer. This means the caller ID shown to the party you are trying to call will be that of your Phone.com’s number.
Caller ID: The Caller ID your party will see: if you have more than one Phone.com number in your account you can choose which one to show when you make a call (you can change this between each call)
Call Mode: The method used when making outgoing calls. When using Gateway mode, the Phone.com app will re-route the call through our system. If you notice that the call is being dialed via a “323″ or “202″ area code, don’t worry. That is just Phone.com acting normally. Callback mode works similarly to click-to-call from our web site. When you place a call, your outgoing call will be cancelled, and in a few moments you will receive an incoming call that you must answer. Then you will be connected to your buddy.
Server Push: This setting is available to Android phones running system 2.2 (“Froyo”) or later. When enabled, you will be notified of new messages very quickly, instead of having to wait up to 30 minutes. Because of features built in to this version of Android, receiving server push messages will not affect battery life.
Refresh Interval: How often to manually refresh your mobile device database with new inbox and call log information from Phone.com servers. Keep in mind that a shorter refresh interval means more power consumption and a shorter battery life. This option is not available (and not needed) if Server Push is enabled.
Call Logs
The call logs display all incoming and outgoing calls, voicemails, and faxes for your extension (similar to the web version of your control panel).
Tap a specific call line in the log to block the caller or add him to your address book, or to return the call.
Place a Call
Perhaps the most exciting feature of the Phone.com Mobile Office is that it gives you the ability to place calls using your Phone.com phone number. You have several options to place an outbound call:
- Click your phone’s physical “call” button (the green button) and choose Phone.com
- Click “place a call” from the Phone.com app
- If you choose to, the Phone.com app can actually intercept all outgoing calls and redirect them through your Phone.com account! Just check the “Other Apps” checkbox from the app’s settings menu.
If you have more than one Phone.com phone number, you can even change it from the app’s settings menu, or to change it on a call-by-call basis, tap-and-hold the call button from the Phone.com dial-pad.
Send a Message (SMS)
You can enter a text message and send out to any mobile number just like you would from your regular chat / SMS function on your phone but the caller ID shown to the called party would be your chosen Phone.com phone number and NOT the cell phone number.
You may also view the chat history from your inbox.
Note: if you transfer your number to Phone.com it may take a few days before you will be able to receive SMS on this number.
Use of Mobile Minutes
Making outgoing calls through the Phone.com Mobile Office app will consume minutes based on your Phone.com package.
Please note that the Phone.com Mobile Office app DOES use your mobile minutes in order to place the call. For help setting up a softphone with Phone.com, which would not use mobile minutes, please contact customer support.
