A household with one or more teenagers is often the one where parents are at a disadvantage. Teens like to talk to their friends, text their classmates, and keep in touch with their peers in every way imaginable. If you are a parent of a sociable teen, you probably rarely have your home phone line free and all to yourself. Restriction of phone usage may work; many parents are advised to restrict their children’s call duration to thirty minutes each and reserve the hours between 7 and 9PM for reading or homework (or basically – quiet, no-talk time). One can also employ a tool such as call waiting and create a rule for a teen to immediately report any incoming calls and not keep a caller waiting for more than a few minutes.

While all these methods are good, the ball is still in your child’s court, as he or she virtually dictates the time when you or your spouse can use the phone. Balance of power does not shift through confrontation, thus Phone.com offers a simple solution that can give both you and your teenager enough time on the phone with friends and relatives.

Phone.com offers plans starting at $9.88 a month and one of its features allows you to route incoming calls to any member of the family, provided additional lines are in the plan. For a parent that works from home, the two-lines and two-numbers Virtual Office plan helps keep all business calls separate from those of your teenager’s friends. Combined with sharp sound quality and lots of added features, such as low-priced international calling, text voicemail, and hold music, among many others, Phone.com’s VoIP service package is the best over-the-internet telephony experience you and your family can have. And your teen-aged offspring will never have to complain about his/her phone being taken away!

Yes, many if not all teenagers have cell phones these days and Phone.com calls can also be routed to any cell phone so if you are not at home you can answer your home number on your cell or even dial out of your cell phone and send and receive SMS messages all while using your home phone number.

The average conference call usually lasts about an hour. In that hour, business deals are made, meetings are conducted, goals are accomplished and companies expand. Every company in the world relies on conference calls to conduct everyday business tasks, which is why the phone service company you choose is extremely important. If you can’t hear clearly, the call drops or the service is disrupted then your bottom line is directly affected. You could lose that business deal, miss out on some important information, or lose valuable time having to set up the conference call for another day due to phone service complications. If you want a reliable phone service company that offers flexibility, one-of-a-kind features and reduced communication costs, then go with Phone.com.

Phone.com is a VoIP service company that offers affordable packages with incredible features — including three important conference call tools that you won’t be able to get with your standard phone service provider. These include:

1.	Moderator Controls — Allows you to take control of your conference call and make sure that everything runs as smoothly as possible. Hit the mute button when you want to discuss something privately with the business associates in the room, or lock the conference call to avoid eavesdropping. With moderator controls, you control your own conference call destiny.

2.	HD Voice Quality — What good is having a conference call if you can’t hear the call clearly? If you are conducting a major business deal, you need to hear all of the details with the utmost voice precision. With clear and crisp HD voice quality, you won’t miss a word of the conversation.

3.	HD Conferencing Bridge — If you can’t set up a conference call with other companies because of incompatible phone systems, you’re in trouble. Phone.com offers an HD Conferencing Bridge that is compatible with any phone service or system. Every smart businessman knows that you have to “bridge” the gaps in order to be successful.

Nowadays, business VoIP systems are becoming very popular. This is because, when using internet protocol to communicate, operational costs can be much lower.

For business, in particular, things can be much cheaper. Features such as long distance and conference calls as well as auto redial and on-screen caller ID are a must for most businesses. In fact, in many industries, they are necessities. Traditional telecommunications companies have generally tended to charge additional fees for these services, which can become very costly. These services are generally available for free on VoIP carriers.

Other things that make VoIP a better option for business are advantages that come from greater flexibility. These include being able to transmit several calls with just one broadband connection. As well, the digital transmission that is currently a part of VoIP services allows you to make secure calls more reliable than what is often available over traditional phone lines. You can also integrate a VoIP call with other internet services. For example, video chats are almost always possible with these services, and you can even use messaging services and exchange files during any given conversation.

So what kind of infrastructure do you need for a business VoIP system?

As long as you have a broadband internet connection that is fast enough to handle VoIP, you can use it for your business. The exact speed that you need can vary, but it’s generally not anything too excessive. In all likelihood, if you rely on the internet for your business, you already use a connection that’s more than adequate. It’s also advisable that you have adequate firewall protection to guard against your VoIP communications being hacked into. Again, if you are already using the internet to transmit vital information, you should have this already.

Once you have determined that you have these requirements, you should be ready to use VoIP for your business.

One of the key factors in any business is cutting down on costs. Of course, some costs are necessary to do business and some aren’t. If you can get rid of the ones that aren’t, you will greatly increase how successful you are. Additionally, if you can find a cheaper way to do something that is impacting your budget now, and you can do it without compromising anything, it would also be wise.

One thing that is often a big overhead cost for businesses is telephone communications. Before the internet became such a key component in the way business communication was done, large amounts of money were spend on long distance calling, as well as other features that telephone companies have long charged high fees for, including conference calling and caller ID.

Now, many businesses are wising up to the fact that big telephone companies no longer have a monopoly on voice communication services and that there are other ways to manage many of these services that can cost them a lot less than what they are currently paying. One major innovation in the world of voice communication is Voice over Internet Protocol, or VoIP.

With VoIP, customers can use their internet connection to make voice communications with others. Many of the tools that they were forced to pay high premiums to telephone companies for in the past are now available for free. What’s more, because most businesses that depend on communication to a high degree already use the internet extensively, the infrastructure that they need is mostly already in place.

By switching to VoIP, a business can cut down significantly on its overhead costs without compromising much in terms of communications. In fact, many things are gained, as voice communications can be integrated with other internet features, such as video conferencing, messaging, or data file exchanging.

In the end, it will mean a healthier bottom line for almost any company.

Small businesses have to work much harder than large corporations in order to establish their brand and attract new customers. One sure way to make your business stand out is to use a few simple marketing tools that catch the eye of consumers. For example, if you create a toll-free vanity number for your business, potential customers will take notice. With a toll-free number, you establish your brand and offer customers an easy (and free!) way to get in touch with you.

Here are some other simple marketing tools that can help enhance the look of any small business:

• After Hours Greetings — Don’t leave potential customers hanging. If they call and don’t get an answer, they may try a different company instead. Set up an “after hours” greeting to let them know your business hours, if they can reach you through e-mail, or to give them another number to call. This feature lets customers and clients know that you care enough to let them know what’s going on, even when you’re not there.

• Hold Music — No one enjoys being put on hold, but if you have to put a customer on hold then at least provide some music. Customers are more likely to stay on the phone when music is playing than if there was just silence. You can even insert advertisements on certain specials or sales events that you have instead.

• Dial-by-Name Directory — Let your customers get to know you by name by setting up a dial-by-name directory. If you want to establish a personal connection with your customers, this is a great way to do so.

These simple marketing tools are easy ways to promote your small business in a professional and strategic way. Phone.com, offers these key features and many more at affordable rate packages, so that small business owners can enhance their business and compete with the big boys.

By Jeb Brilliant

I had a wonderful experience yesterday when I helped my friends father sign up for a Virtual Office account on Phone.com. I had never sat down with someone and signed them up for Phone.com so this was a new experience for me but boy was I surprised at how fast and painless it was.

Mr. H and I started off online signing up but we got to a section where it asks for a business ID number (needed because Mr. H wanted to transfer his current phone number to Phone.com) and we didn’t have that at Mr. H’s house, he had it in his office. I was concerned we were stuck so I called the Phone.com 800 customer support # and got right through to Craig who said we could fill it in later. We started the process over with Craig and he was much faster then we were. In just a couple of minutes we had the entire order processed and the ATA on the way to Mr. H.

Here’s where the fun began. Mr. H is a friendly and curious guy by nature and when Craig asked if we had any more questions he was bombarded by us.
•	Little things like can “Mr. H cancel 1 of his 4 lines at any time?” “Yes, you’re not on a yearly contract with us.” Craig said.
•	“How long will it take the ATA to arrive” asked Mr. H. “About 5 days” answered Craig

This went on for a few minutes and Craig never flinched or got annoyed with all the questions. It may have helped that Craig and Mr. H found out that they are both originally from Buffalo, NY and they were swapping names of restaurants and old bars they went to in between questions. At the end of the call Mr. H hung up the phone and told me how pleased he was with the level of knowledge and high regard for the customers satisfaction he felt Craig exuded. Mr. H is happy which means I’m happy, because I recommended Phone.com to him.

Funny thing, Mr. H wants to get a new cell phone and I showed him the Mobile Office app we have. He is so excited to be able to work outside his office (like at home or in a foreign country) and be able to get his work calls, messages, faxes and even make calls showing his work number all from the Mobile Office app.

Are you like Mr. H and want help signing up for Phone.com service? I’m sure there are a lot of you out there that like the hand holding or maybe don’t feel technically savvy enough to do it yourself. I suggest calling our 800 number (800-998-7087) and one of our competent customer service folks would be delighted to help you through the process whether you’re signing up on the computer or over the phone and even help set up your new account so you can start receiving calls as soon as it goes live.

In the cut throat world of telecommunications today, there are so many options available for customers who want to get the most services while paying the least amount of money. With Phone.com’s Home Phone Plus service, it’s now possible to earn money with your telephone connection.

First of all, Home Phone Plus costs only $9.88 per month. That’s much lower than most basic calling plans available, and with it you get 250 minutes, one phone number, voicemail, simultaneous phones ring, forwarding, caller ID, and other services. If you go over your allotted minutes, you pay only 3.9 cents per minute extra. Other plans are available at $17.88 and $19.88 monthly that allow unlimited minutes.

But what makes Home Phone Plus so unique is the rewards system that is in place. With it, you get rewarded for referring friends to Phone.com. For every friend that you refer to one of Phone.com’s plans, you pay one dollar less per month. Therefore, if you have the Monthly 250 plan for $9.88 per month and you refer one friend who is now on the system, you will pay only $8.88 per month. If you refer ten friends who are using the system, you pay nothing! In fact, if you continue referring friends who join Phone.com, you will begin to earn one dollar per month. This reward for you is in place for as long as your friend remains part of the Phone.com system. If your friend leaves, you will be notified, and your credit will be reduced by a dollar.

There are many phone plans out there that offer you cheap or even free telephone service, but how many have you seen before that give you the opportunity to make money for your telephone service? If you want to take advantage of this and you have friends that you think would want to benefit as well, visit Phone.com and see for yourself.

I decided to do a comparison of Phone.com Home Phone Plus service against my local provider after reading that “Nearly 2/3 of US consumers switched to a cheaper household products” in the Wall Street Journal. I don’t want to name the local provider so for the sake of this post we’ll call them Horizon.

Horizon charges $54.99/month plus tax with a 30 day contract but they did say there’s a possibility I could get lucky and get a discount to $39.99 if I talk with a nice rep. Huh? so it’s luck??? Anyways Horizon offers:
•	Caller ID
•	Call Waiting
•	3 Way Calling
•	Voicemail

Phone.com charges $19.88/month plus tax with no yearly contract. There’s a 1 time $29.95 fee for the ATA if you need one (it allows you to connect your regular home phone to the Phone.com service). Phone.com offers a whole list of features including everything Horizon offers and
•	Caller ID
•	Call Waiting
•	3 Way Calling
•	Voicemail
•	Simultaneous Ring (have more then just your home phone ring when you get a call)
•	Call forwarding (Forward all incoming calls to another number)

And a whole list of other features which you can read about HERE.

So now that we have a clear picture what does it really mean? It means that Phone.com is going to be $35.11 cheaper/month for me (not including taxes). So why aren’t you switching? What could it be that’s holding you back? Anything at all? I called Horizon back a second time to go through their list of features again and ask them if there were any persuading factors and you know what they told me? That there weren’t any. I couldn’t even get the guy to tell me Horizon was any better then any other service. I straight forward asked him and he wouldn’t say it.

I can’t imagine being with a phone company that didn’t think they were the best and didn’t care to tell their potential customers that. Back to the point, if you want to save $35.11/month or $421.32/ year then switch to Phone.com. You will get the BEST phone service around at the best price and 24/7 customer service. You’ll also get to keep your current telephone number and set up (if you’re like me it’s a cordless telephone system) and just need to plug your home phone into the ATA and the ATA in to your router.
