Call Screening
Know who is calling and choose to accept or reject their call with the press of a button! When you sign up for a Phone.com Virtual Phone Number or activate one of our Virtual Office or Home Phone services, you have access to this convenient and easy-to-use feature. To give you an idea of the full benefits of call screening, imagine the scenario below:
Ring, ring! You receive a call to your Phone.com number that then forwards to your cell phone.
When you answer, you hear “You have received a call to [Your Phone.com number] from [the caller's number]. Press 1 to accept. Press 2 to reject.”
If you choose to answer, pressing 1 will automatically connect you with the caller.
If you decide to let the call go, press 2 to reject and the call will be forwarded to the next Call Handling Rule for your number.
Start utilizing call screening in your daily life. Explore the plan options and sign up for the phone service that best meets your needs today!
Note: Call screening is also useful in situations where you specify in your call handling rules that you want few phone numbers (like your cell and office phone) to ring at the same time. By specifying Call Screening on those situations you ensure that if a voicemail picks up at one of those phones the call to that phone will be ignored. Without call screening, your cell phone voicemail can grab the call before you had a chance to answer on the other phone that rings at the same time.
Read through the instructions below to see exactly how to activate and organize your call screening service. Keep in mind that whether you need a Virtual Phone Number for business or simply want to make your home phone more efficient, call screening is a valuable tool to have.

Call Screening On
With Call Screening enabled, the number your calls are forwarding to will receive a message stating:
“You have a call from [Number] to [Number]. Press 1 to Accept. Press 2 to Reject.”
**Please note that the Ring Above Number(s) must be at least 30 seconds or more if using Call Screening. If the ring time falls below 30 seconds, Call Screening may not work properly.
