Inc. Magazine Unveils Inc. 500, the Publication’s 31st Annual List of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies

Livingston, N.J. (PRWEB) August 21, 2012. Phone.com has been recognized by Inc. Magazine at number 262 in their 2012 Inc. 500 list, an exclusive ranking of the fastest-growing privately-held companies in America. This is considered a hallmark of entrepreneurial success with past members of the list including Intuit, Zappos, Under Armour, Jamba Juice, Timberland, Patagonia and Zipcar.

“Phone.com is a cloud-based phone service targeting small businesses, entrepreneurs and sole proprietors. We are honored and humbled that we have made the list of this prestigious exclusive group of companies,” said Ari Rabban, CEO & CO-founder of Phone.com. “The phone service market is extremely competitive and yet still very exciting. Growth in our industry and Phone.com specifically is based on innovative services incorporating new technologies and new developments. We look forward to continuing to serve our growing and loyal customer base with an eye towards innovation, quality and value.”

The 2012 Inc. 500, unveiled in the September issue of Inc. (available on newsstands August 21 to November 15 and on Inc.com), is the most competitive crop in the list’s history. To make the cut, Phone.com had to have achieved a staggering minimum of 770% in sales growth. The Inc. 500’ s aggregate revenue is $15.7 billion, with the combined companies employing more than 48,000 people and having generated over 40,000 jobs during the past three years.

“Now, more than ever, we depend on Inc. 500/5000 companies to spur innovation, provide jobs, and drive the economy forward. Growth companies, not large corporations, are where the action is,” says Inc. Editor Eric Schurenberg.

In a stagnant economic environment, median growth rate of 2012 Inc. 500|5000 companies remains an impressive 97 percent.

Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at http://www.inc.com. A complete list will also be featured in Inc.‘s September issue, which is available on newsstands now.

Methodology

The 2012 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2008 to 2011. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2008. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2011. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2008 is $100,000; the minimum for 2011 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at www.inc.com/500.

Phone.com Introduces Panasonic Internet-based SIP Cordless Phones for Businesses and Residential Customers

by Phone.com

Phone.com’s
new Panasonic Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) phones provide business-quality services equivalent to landline phones while coupled with the mobility of traditional cordless instruments.

Livingston, NJ (PRWEB) August 09, 2012. Recognizing the wide proliferation of cordless phones in the home and business environments today,Phone.com, the premiere provider of Virtual Office telephone services, has become one of the first Internet Telephony Service Providers (ITSPs) to introduce Panasonic Internet-enabled Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) cordless telephones as a standard product offering. These systems are ideal for small businesses that need mobility within an office, the ability to retain outstanding call quality, and the myriad of new features available from cloud-based phone services. They are also ideal for residential and home office users.

The Panasonic KX-TGP500 and KX-TPA50 are ideal complements to the Phone.com Virtual Office suite of services. The systems are expandable to six DECT 6.0 cordless handsets, can support three concurrent calls, and are standardized for high-definition (HD) voice communications. Anyone wanting the flexibility of a cordless phone yet the value afforded by Internet phone services now has a viable alternative to the old method of using an analog terminal adapter (ATA) and plugging in non-Internet-enabled devices.

“The SIP cordless phones from Panasonic allow our customers to enjoy the familiarity of existing cordless phones but with much lower phone line costs than with traditional Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS),” said Ari Rabban, CEO of Phone.com.

The system includes one handset, with the option to purchase additional Panasonic KX-TPA50 handsets.

Handsets on both phones feature calling status displays on large 2.1-inch screens with white backlight. Features include call forwarding, voice mail, call transferring and a speaker phone that reviews describe as excellent. When fully charged, the phone provides five hours of talk time or roughly 10 days of standby.

According to Panasonic’s website, the combination of hosted voice phone services like the Phone.com Virtual Office with the Panasonic cordless SIP phone system creates a “phone system in a box” that offers exceptional value to today’s smart consumers.

“Phone.com’s VoIP phone service and cloud-based business phones are ideal for smaller businesses, especially for those that require mobility within an office environment. This could include medical offices, accounting firms, legal offices, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, retail stores,” Rabban suggested.

The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen and Madonna Coming to a Phone Near You

by Phone.com

Phone.com introduces premium hold music with well-known artists for 99 cents per month.

Livingston, N.J. (PRWEB) June 18, 2012. Businesses are notorious for having irritating, dull hold music with office phone systems. Some consumers detest the music so much that they are tempted to hang up. Phone.com, a VoIP phone service, now offers an alternative to bad hold music with its Premium Music on Hold Feature. For 99 cents per month Phone.com customers choose from nine premium music channels.

“I think it’s cool, the fact that you can choose from a bunch of well-known performers in genres you are interested in,” said Ari Rabban, CEO and co-founder of Phone.com.

The channels include classic rock, electronic, rap, jazz and tie-dye, featuring artists such as Bob Dylan, Daft Punk, Jay-Z and Louis Armstrong. There are also stations dedicated to the music of The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen and other musicians.

“There is a lot of boring elevator music that everybody offers, with us, you can get Bruce Springsteen,” Rabban said.

The small business phone systems also allow users to upload their own sound clips to be used as hold time clips.

“If you want to upload your company jingle, you can have it. However, you must have permission to use the sound clips you upload. Phone.com is not responsible for copyright infringement that may occur as a result of uploading music without permission,” Rabban said.

He said the right hold music can help set the tone and define an image for a business.

“Every business would like to have an image, and if you want to look cool and think Jay-Z is the one that will do that, then you can have Jay-Z as your hold music,” he said.

Phone.com offers VoIP phone service and cloud-based business phones to small companies. Services include vanity numbers, custom greetings, voice mail and call transferring. For more than four years Phone.com has served companies with up to 20 phone lines.

Rabban said features like Premium Music on Hold could help Phone.com maintain its excellent record of customer retention and service quality. For more information about the new feature, visithttp://www.phone.com/features/hold-music. The hold music is compatible with any Phone.com plan.

“My favorite channel is classic rock,” Rabban said. “But there’s a station out there to fit every business.”

Phone.com and FlexJobs Announce Joint Marketing Relationship

Boulder, Colo. and Livingston, N.J. (PRWEB) February 29, 2012. Phone.com, a provider of Virtual Office telephone services, and FlexJobs, today announced a joint marketing relationship to offer Phone.com’s award-winning phone services to the telecommuters and employers of telecommuters to whom FlexJobs caters. FlexJob’s mission is to make the search for telecommuting, part-time, freelance, or flextime jobs better, easier, faster, and safer. Phone.com provides the missing link for FlexJobs members, offering a discount for phone service functionality normally found only in larger and more expensive systems. This combined effort delivers flexible jobs with the most flexible and affordable phone services on the planet!

Phone.com has excelled at providing Voice over Internet (VoIP) services to businesses with requirements for one to 20 telephone lines for more than four years. The company has achieved an outstanding record of customer retention and service quality. It is this focus on helping entrepreneurs, teleworkers, and other highly distributed professionals become prosperous that led to the relationship with FlexJobs.

The idea for FlexJobs came about in 2007 when Sara Sutton Fell, an experienced entrepreneur who was expecting her first child, started looking for flexible work arrangements and discovered how challenging it was to find something legitimate and in-line with her career. Since that time, FlexJobs has grown into an award-winning service filling the needs of a specialized group of companies seeking valuable freelance or part-time business services.

“As we continue to move into a highly distributed information economy composed of large numbers of contracted individuals, there needs to be a place for these people to find work. FlexJobs helps to meet that need,” said Ari Rabban, CEO and co-founder of Phone.com. “At the same time, those people also need the most cost-effective, feature rich, and high quality phone services available to communicate with customers and managers,” he continued.

”FlexJobs knows the companies seeking telecommuters, part-timers, and freelancers. We understand the professionals looking to fill those roles and yet continue to enjoy the flexibility of working remotely and at all hours,” says Sara Sutton Fell, founder and CEO of FlexJobs. “The fact that we at FlexJobs embrace job flexibility allows us to truly understand our users, the type of quality jobs they are looking for, and the many benefits that can be had from a job that fits into their lives rather than the other way around. We welcome our partnership with Phone.com, as this will further empower the people that FlexJobs set out to help!”

Phone.com will provide discounts and a continuing stream of new and innovative features to FlexJobs subscribers.
