Gary Kim wrote on TMCnet that 35% of all US Android and iPhone users check apps such as Facebook before getting out of bed in the morning. I asked a 16 year old cousin of mine if he checks his phone before getting out of bed because he doesn’t have FB or any apps that use data on his phone. He told me that he starts sending text messages before he gets up.

I know I check email before I get out of bed and 2 years ago a friend said I was crazy for doing so. For me it allows me to know if I have any fires to put out or have to jump on a conference call that got moved up. This is all possible now because it’s so easy to stay connected to the web and there are apps that make it faster then going through a browser. With cloud computing and internet connectivity nearly everywhere we go It’s easy to stay on the grid.
