I would like to point out a good article in today’s Wall Street Journal titled: “Negotiating the Freelance Economy” by Sarah Needleman.
A good write up about how freelance work, is picking up especially in light of the economy.
According to the article there has been a reported increase of 35% and 105% in freelance job postings on two of the leading freelance job posting websites Elance.com and Odesk.com.
There are many opportunities out there for freelance work and this is true in a growing number of professions.
Needless to say that with the ability to work from home in many cases and a little help from the internet (oh… and also Phone.com Virtual Office) freelance contractors may never meet with the people or companies they do work for.
The article discusses some of the challenges of setting up a freelance business and the many tools that can help!
