The FCC Is Enhancing Restrictions On Robocalls

Thursday, February 16th, 2012 at 12:51 PM EST

“The FCC is giving American consumers some help to keep a little more peace and serenity in their homes”.  This is some refreshing news from the FCC, they’re going to tighten the restrictions on automated or robocalling telemarketing calls.  Companies will have to have written permission from you to harass you on your home phone now.

Automated calls are still aloud  in regard to school closings or flight changes, as well as spam calls from political campaigns, charities, or debt collectors.  This seems like a good although small step in the right direction.  I know it would be nice to get fewer spam calls that I just hang up on as soon as I hear who’s calling.  To learn more click here.
